About us
Who are we?
The RISE (Relationships and Interactions in School Environments) research group consists of researchers and doctoral students based at the UCL Institute of Education. We are dedicated to conducting high-quality research in primary and secondary school settings.
Our Research Work
In particular, we study interactions and relationships in authentic everyday educational settings using a range of research approaches, methodologies and designs. We aim to inform and impact practitioners and policymakers and academic audiences, in an effort to understand and improve interactional and educational experiences for children and to help enhance children’s lives.
Research Themes
The current themes at the heart of the group include peer interactions and relationships, friendships, socio-emotional development in children, collaborative learning and group work, bullying, bystander behaviours, prosocial behaviours, interactions during school break times and meal times, peer and teacher-based interactions, and children’s temperament, mental health and well-being.
“Original and with an innate understanding of their customer’s needs, the team at Love Nature are always a pleasure to work with.”
